Since the new Auris/Corolla Hatchback was unveiled in earlier this year, Toyota has now released a station wagon design named Corolla Touring Sports and makes its first appearance at the 2018 Paris motor show.
“The all-new Corolla features a dynamic design which differentiates between the sporting, compact and dynamic hatchback and the sleek, refined and versatile Touring Sports.
This New Corolla Touring Sports is aimed at people who are looking for practicality and style without compromise, with a wheelbase of 2700 mm and a claimed best-in-class rear seat passenger legroom. The interior is also designed to create a spacious, modern and cohesive cabin environment in which new textures, colours and trim combine to offer the highest levels of visual and tactile quality.
It will be fitted with a brand new 2.0 litre full hybrid powertrain as part of Toyota’s dual hybrid strategy. Also in the lineup will be a 1.8 litre hybrid and a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine.
So, you’ll get to pick between:
- 85kW 1.2 Turbo Petrol,
- 89kW 1.8 Hybrid,
- 133kW 2.0 Hybrid.
The Japanese Automaker also says Handling and agility are thanks to the low mounting height of the engine, the low hip point of the seats and the location of the hybrid battery beneath the rear seats. In combination, these measures allow the Corolla Touring Sports to have a low centre of gravity.
It continues the look of the Hatchback but in a more practical package. The sedan is to follow soon as well.
